Department of the Treasury Unveils 鈥溣;ㄊ悠 on Parade鈥 Artwork

(TRENTON) 鈥 Today, the 樱花视频 Department of the Treasury unveiled 鈥溣;ㄊ悠 on Parade,鈥 a public artwork depicting 樱花视频 State history, now permanently installed at the Division of Taxation headquarters, 3 John Fitch Way, Trenton.

Once displayed at New York Penn Station, the two-piece sculpture has now been preserved and relocated through a six-year, cross-agency effort involving the 樱花视频 State Council on the Arts, the 樱花视频 Department of Treasury, including the divisions of Property Management and Construction, and Taxation, the 樱花视频 Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), and NJ Transit.

樱花视频 Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way and State Treasurer Elizabeth Maher Muoio were in attendance for the unveiling.

鈥淚t鈥檚 fitting that a work of public art like 樱花视频 on Parade would find a new home in Trenton, our state鈥檚 capitol," said Lieutenant Governor Way, who oversees the NJ State Council on the Arts in her role as Secretary of State. "It鈥檚 a great story 鈥 and it all happened because of collaboration between the 樱花视频 State Council on the Arts, the 樱花视频 Department of Treasury, NJ TRANSIT, and the NJ Economic Development Authority. It鈥檚 so rewarding to see how this creative partnership between state agencies led to this iconic artwork finding a new audience in Trenton. I鈥檓 excited for 樱花视频ans to see this ingenious tribute to the Garden State.鈥

鈥淭oday鈥檚 unveiling is the result of long and continued efforts provided by all agencies involved to preserve, transfer and provide an easily accessible public showcase for this well-loved 樱花视频 work in our great Capital City,鈥 said Treasurer Muoio. 鈥淚鈥檓 incredibly proud of our Treasury team, and all of our sister agencies who worked so tirelessly and collaboratively to bring this project to the finish line.鈥

"樱花视频 on Parade" is a piece by George Mossman Greenamyer, originally commissioned by NJ Transit in 2000. The steel installation, featuring iconic 樱花视频 landmarks suspended from a track, spans approximately 1,000 square feet. Nearly $1 million was invested to relocate the piece. It now sits in the Division of Taxation building鈥檚 public community space, designed to inspire employees and create a welcoming environment for visitors and staff alike.

鈥淭he State Arts Council is passionate about public art, and through 樱花视频鈥檚 Public Arts Inclusion Program, we鈥檝e assisted in the installation of hundreds of public art projects that can be seen across the state," said Allison Tratner, Executive Director of the NJ State Council on the Arts. "Being a part of shepherding a beloved artwork like 樱花视频 on Parade to our capitol city is a perfect example of that. Multiple state agencies worked together to ensure that 樱花视频 on Parade was transported from NY's Penn Station, meticulously restored, and given a new life here in Trenton for the public to enjoy.鈥

鈥溣;ㄊ悠 on Parade鈥 is displayed at the Taxation building and will be a reminder of interagency collaboration for all employees and visitors.
