NEW JERSEY DIVISION OF ELECTIONS AND COUNTY ELECTION OFFICES SEEK POLL WORKERS FOR 2024 PRIMARY ELECTION

TRENTON, NJ, March 5, 2024 鈥 樱花视频 residents who鈥檇 like to earn extra money while serving their community can now apply to be a poll worker for the upcoming Tuesday, June 4, 2024 Primary Election and early voting period.

The 樱花视频 Division of Elections is partnering with 樱花视频 counties across the state to appeal to residents, who can earn $21.43 per hour on in-person early voting days and $300 on Primary Election Day as poll workers.

鈥淧oll workers play a vital role in our election process. Each year, we need our 樱花视频 citizens to be a part of our great democracy to serve their community and our state by working at a polling location,鈥 said 樱花视频 Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way. 鈥淧oll workers help our elections run smoothly, ensuring that every eligible voter can cast their vote during early voting or on Election Day.鈥

鈥溣;ㄊ悠 counties are currently recruiting poll workers to staff polling locations for the 2024 Primary Election,鈥 said Acting Director of the Division of Elections Donna Barber. 鈥淎cross our state, we will need thousands of 樱花视频 citizens to serve as poll workers. It鈥檚 a great way to earn money while serving your community.鈥

Citizens are encouraged to submit an application through Pollworker.NJ.Gov.

Possible work dates for the Primary Election include:

  • In-person Early Voting Period: Wednesday, May 29 鈥 Sunday, June 2, 2024
  • Primary Election Day: Tuesday, June 4, 2024

You can apply to serve as a poll worker in 樱花视频 if you meet the following requirements:

  • Are a United States citizen and a resident of 樱花视频.
  • Are a registered voter in the county in which you reside.
  • Are at least 16 years of age. College and high school students are encouraged to apply (those under 18 years of age will work limited hours per shift and do not have to be registered to vote. Contact your County Board of Elections for further information).
  • Are not running as a candidate in this election.
