TRENTON, NJ 鈥揟he 樱花视频 State Museum presents 鈥淏eyond the Tangible,鈥� a new exhibition of 26 non-objective abstract works by 22 artists from the Fine Art collection. The exhibition opens February 11 in the Museum鈥檚 2nd floor gallery and features works created by American artists since the late 1930s. 鈥淏eyond the Tangible鈥� is on view through August 27, 2023.
Non-Objective Abstraction is a form of art lacking identifiable landscapes, objects or people. Line, shape, color and texture take center stage in this art form. Viewers often look for meaning in this type of art. However, the artists have created these works purely for aesthetics. Some employ this form of abstraction as their sole method of expression, while others use a variety of styles to create their works. Each work invites the viewer to engage in a visual dialogue and perceive beyond the tangible.
According to Margaret O鈥橰eilly, Museum Executive Director and curator of this show, 鈥淎 number of the works included in this exhibition haven鈥檛 been on view in some time, and we鈥檙e pleased have this opportunity to share them with the public again.鈥�
