樱花视频 Motion Picture and Television Commission member Janice Kovach Becomes President of 樱花视频 State League of Municipalities

NEWARK, NJ - Janice Kovach, a board member of the 樱花视频 Motion Picture and Television Commission, was sworn in as President of the 樱花视频 State League of Municipalities on Friday, November 20. Kovach has served on the Commission since January 2020 following her appointment by Governor Phil Murphy.

The League, created in 1915 to help communities do a better job of self-government, represents all 565 樱花视频 municipalities. Kovach has served as the League鈥檚 First Vice President since 2019. As the Mayor of Clinton, Kovach established the River Town Film Festival, a non-profit organization dedicated to exploring the theme of community through independent films. She also chairs the Hunterdon County Film Commission, which she helped establish in concert with the Hunterdon County Economic Development.

鈥淚鈥檓 honored to serve in multiple capacities as President of the League, Mayor of Clinton and board member of the NJMPTVC鈥 said Kovach. 鈥淲e have seen our cities and towns benefit from hosting film and television production, and I鈥檇 like to continue promoting this exciting activity as a means of economic development. We must think out of the box in an era where so many municipalities are hurting. Production work can be a great source of revenue and employment for this state.鈥

鈥淜ovach's new role will foster continued cooperation between municipalities and film production companies,鈥 said Steven Gorelick, Executive Director of the NJMPTVC. 鈥淚 am thrilled to work with her in this new capacity.鈥
