Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Trooper Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash

West Trenton, N.J. - It is with great sadness that the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Police announces the tragic loss of Trooper Brian McNally #7664, who was killed in an off-duty motor vehicle crash Sunday evening on I-78 in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Trooper Brian McNally was a member of the 154th State Police Class, which graduated August 29th, 2014.  He was assigned to Washington Station.

Prior to becoming a member of the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Police, Trooper McNally graduated from the Citadel Military Academy and was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.

“Tammy and I are deeply saddened by the death of Trooper Brian McNally, who was killed in an off duty car crash yesterday evening while returning from weekend military service in Pennsylvania,” said Governor Phil Murphy.  “Our thoughts and prayers are with the McNally family and the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Police at this difficult time.”

“My heart goes out to the family of Trooper McNally and to the Troopers and Marines who served with him,” said Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal. “He lived his life in service to Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ, to his country, and to the safety and security of all of us. It is with great sadness and gratitude that we honor his memory.”

"The men and women of the State Police are devastated by the tragic loss of Trooper McNally,” said Colonel Patrick Callahan, Acting Superintendent of the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Police.  “Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with his family. Brian's life was a testament to his dedication to service of both state and country."

The crash is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police.
