Anthony R. Fotiou was born on December 1, 1957, in Atlantic City, Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ. He graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1977. He was a lifeguard with the Atlantic City Beach Patrol and a member of the Margate Crew team. Prior to enlisting in the State Police, he served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1985.Â
Trooper I Fotiou enlisted in the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Police on November 19, 1987, as a member of the 109th Class. He served at various Troop “A” stations and various assignments in the Transportation Safety Bureau. His service with the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Police was characterized by loyalty, fearless performance of duty and faithful and energetic devotion to the high principles of the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Police.
Trooper I Fotiou suffered a fatal heart attack while conducting commercial vehicle inspections at the Carney’s Point Scales. He served 23 years and 4 months with the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Police.
He is survived by his mother, stepfather, a sister and two brothers. Trooper I Fotiou was 53 years old.
