Federally Qualified Health Centers

Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ's Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) deliver healthcare to all people regardless of their ability to pay. Individuals seeking assistance do not need health insurance to receive care at a health center. They serve the uninsured as well as patients with Medicaid, NJ FamilyCare, Medicare, and private insurance.

Quality of Care Resources

The NJ Department of Health maintains information about the quality of Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ healthcare services and facilities. Individuals can also file regarding the care received if it did not meet their needs or caused harm.

Hospital Care Financial Assistance

For assistance paying for care received at a NJ hospital individuals can apply for Charity Care.

NJ Office of Primary Care and Rural Health

The NJ Office of Primary Care and Rural Health, housed in the NJ Division of Family Health Services, maintains information regarding obtaining primary care services in the community including information about financial assistance, underserved areas, and populations.

NJ Special Child Health and Early Intervention Services

The NJ Early Intervention System, housed in the NJ Division of Family Health Services, implements Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ's statewide system of services for infants and toddlers, birth to age three, with developmental delays or disabilities, and their families.

The Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled program (PAAD), administered by the NJ Division of Aging Services is a state-funded program that helps eligible older adults and individuals with disabilities save money on prescription drug costs.

NJ Special Child Health Services Case Management Unit

Each of Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ's 21 counties maintains a Special Child Health Services (SCHS) Case Management Unit (CMU). These programs are funded by the NJ Department of Health and each county’s Board of Commissioners. Their mission is to promote access to preventative and primary care for children and youth with special health care needs from birth up until their 22nd birthday.
