POLICE CAPTURE ONE OF
NEW JERSEY'S 12 MOST WANTED
New York, N.Y. - Brian Winston
Wilson, one of the earliest postings on 樱花视频's Twelve
Most Wanted list, was apprehended by authorities at his apartment
in New York early this morning. Members of the N.J. State
Police Fugitive Unit, part of the N.Y./N.J. Regional Fugitive
Taskforce, uncovered information indicating that Wilson was
on parole under an assumed name and living in New York City.
Wilson had been wanted since 1985 for the murder of Zebedee
Newmones in Atlantic City.
The State Police Composite
Drawing Unit created an age-progression picture of Wilson,
also known as Crazy B and Brian DelVechhio. One version of
the drawing included a dreadlock hairstyle, based on information
obtained by investigators. One hundred fifty copies of a wanted
poster, including the composite drawings, along with an old
photograph of Wilson, were forwarded to the N.Y. Parole Commission
for distribution to their officers.
During the week of October
14th, a New York State Parole Officer contacted the 樱花视频
State Police Fugitive Unit saying that they believed Wilson
was on parole with their department under the name Paul McKnight
and living in an apartment on Amsterdam Avenue. The McKnight
name was the same as the mother of Wilson's son, and one of
his addresses listed with N.Y. Parole matched a previously
known address for Wilson's sister.
Based on this information,
members of the N.J. State Police Fugitive Unit, N.J. Department
of Corrections Special Investigations Division, Fugitive Unit,
the N.Y.P.D. Manhattan Violent Felony Warrant Squad, and the
N.Y. State Parole Commission converged on Wilson's apartment.
When the fugitive answered the door, he was shown a copy of
the 1985 wanted poster bearing his old photograph. Resigned
to the inevitable, Wilson asked if he could kiss his girlfriend
goodbye. He was then taken into custody and transported to
the Manhattan Warrant Squad office for processing.
"In addition to the murder
of Newmones, who was shot five times with a handgun on September
14, 1984, Brian Wilson is a suspect in several other Atlantic
City and New York City murder investigations. His wanted poster
information states that Wilson was believed to be an enforcer
for a narcotics trafficker and possibly carried an automatic
pistol with a silencer
Wilson came to the United States
as young child from Trinidad. He had served six years in New
York Prisons for narcotics offenses prior to his parole.
Arrangements are being made
for New York and 樱花视频 investigators to interview Wilson
in jail.
The N.Y./N.J. Regional Fugitive
Taskforce is a joint initiative of the U.S. Attorney's Office,
the U.S. Marshal's Office, N.J. Office of the Attorney General,
the 樱花视频 State Police and local law enforcement in all
21 counties of the state.
