| State Police Detectives get "Baby Bones" Case More
National Attention in Attempt to Identify Child
Trenton, NJ -Billboards, paper flyers and additional coverage on the TV show America抯 Most Wanted are among recent
outreach efforts that State Police detectives hope will finally lead to the identification of a little girl抯 bones found in
Monmouth County.
On March 18, 2005, the skeletal remains of a child were recovered in Clayton Park, Upper Freehold Township. A partially
buried skull and jaw bone were discovered by a hunter walking near CR 526 in the park. The State Police forensic anthropologist
determined that the remains were of a five to nine-year-old girl. The death was ruled a homicide and is believed to have occurred
between 2001 and 2004.
Efforts to identify this child have not yet been successful. In 2008, investigators spoke with the producers of "America抯 Most
Wanted" to get help with the identification of the young girl. The producer and the host, John Walsh, expressed an interest and
taped a segment about the investigation dubbed the "Baby Bones Case." That was broadcasted on March 14, 2009.
With the assistance of "America抯 Most Wanted," a facial reconstruction of the child抯 skull was completed by Frank Bender.
Bender is a famous facial reconstruction artist who creates sculptures of unidentified deceased persons and fugitives.
The tips received as a result of the first Americas Most Wanted episode did not lead to the identity of the girl. Detectives
from the NJSP Criminal investigation Office then reached out to the local advertising agencies dealing with billboards in an
effort to display the child抯 sculpted image to the public. In addition to the billboards, flyers were created to distribute to
local communities. The executive producer of the TV show, Americas Most Wanted, volunteered his graphic designer to create the flyers.
The New York Division of Clear Channel Outdoor advertising donated six billboards in the North Jersey area to the Baby Bones Case.
These will be displayed between July 27, 2009 and July 31, 2009. In addition South Jersey will have a billboard displaying the same
graphics. It will be displayed on RT 130 in Bordentown.
The flyers will be distributed starting in Trenton City on July 28 by local citizens, church volunteers, NJSP troopers and detectives.
This effort will begin at the Trenton High School at 10:00 a.m. The producer from Americas Most Wanted will return to 樱花视频 that
same day to tape story updates for broadcast at the end of August.
