Troopers Return from Presidential Inauguration Detail
West Trenton, N.J. – Forty troopers returned to Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ on Tuesday, January 22, after supporting the 57th
Presidential Inauguration. The NJSP presidential inauguration detail left for the nation’s capitol on Saturday.
On Sunday, the 20th, troopers were deputized at a swearing in ceremony by the United States Marshals Service, along with
law enforcement agencies from around the country. The troopers were assigned along the parade route to assist the
Washington D.C., Metropolitan Police Department (MPDC) with security and crowd control.
"I commend our troopers for their efforts during the inauguration festivities," said Colonel Rick Fuentes, Superintendent
of the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ State Police. "These men and women proudly represented Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ during their assignment, and
contributed to the safety and success of the day."
The contingent of troopers was led by Major Brian McPherson, Commanding Officer, Special Operations Section.
All expenses, including travel, meals, and lodging are being reimbursed by the Metropolitan Police Department.
