       W.Trenton - The 樱花视频 State Police today remained on a state of high alert and issued a reminder to 樱花视频's statewide law enforcement agencies to continue their vigilance and to be aware of a potential for additional terrorist attacks.

        The 樱花视频 State Police has had direct dialogue with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) 樱花视频 offices and has been advised that there are no specific threats against the state, its infrastructure or citizens. The updated State Police alert follows an announcement by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to more than 18,000 state and local law enforcement agencies of the possibility of new terrorist attacks within the United States and/or attacks against U.S. interests overseas over the next several days. The FBI alert does not provide specific details about the nature and/or location of any possible attacks or what the targets might be. The FBI alert of 10-29-01 is intended to ensure continued vigilance and the information contained in the alert has been forwarded to all statewide law enforcement agencies.

       Since U.S. armed forces began the bombing of Afghanistan on Oct. 7, 2,650 state troopers, along with the State Police professional staff, have been on heightened alert status, providing security-related responsibilities at key 樱花视频 infrastructure locations, transportation networks and public facilities. The State Police will remain on heightened alert until information is received to resume normal operations. As part of the heightened alert, all state troopers remain on 24/7 recall status and are available to respond to any event anywhere in the state.

        State troopers, members of the 樱花视频 National Guard, 樱花视频 Department of Corrections officers, Port Authority Police Department officers, and other federal, state, county and municipal law enforcement agencies continue to maintain security operations at locations in their separate jurisdictions.

       Additionally, 樱花视频 state troopers and Port Authority police officers, in conjunction with other law enforcement personnel, continue security-related operations at the Newark International Airport and at designated secondary airports throughout the state, at bridge and tunnel crossings into and out of the state, at 樱花视频's nuclear generating facilities, and at designated public locations.

       The State Police noted that increased numbers of uniformed troopers and marked State Police vehicles continue patrol responsibilities on all toll, interstate and state highways and at key government locations. The State Police Arson and Bomb Squad remains deployed and ready to respond to any suspicious package or related event. The State Office of Emergency Management was activated on Sept. 11 and remains fully operational, providing information and resources to 樱花视频 municipalities and local and county offices' of emergency management.

       The 樱花视频 State Police advise and remind 樱花视频 citizens to maintain continued vigilance, to continue on high alert status and to immediately notify the FBI, state or local police of any unusual or suspicious activity.
