To be considered a historic vehicle, the vehicle must be at least 25 years old and only used for exhibition and educational purposes by the owner. Historic plates can be purchased for $44.

Owners of modified antique automobiles manufactured before 1949 that are registered in a 樱花视频 street rod club or an affiliate of the National Street Rod Association Inc. may apply for a Street Rod plate for $15.

To purchase Historic plates in-person at select agencies

For your convenience, standard Historic plates - except motorcycles - may be purchased in-person at any . 

• Complete Application for Historic Vehicle Registration (Form SP-121)
• Bring two color photographs (can be printed on plain paper) of the vehicle: front view and side view (right or left).
• Bring a copy of your vehicle's 樱花视频 title
• Pay the $44 fee.  The MVC accepts American Express庐 card, Visa 庐 card, MasterCard庐, Discover card庐, checks, money orders and cash.

To purchase Historic plates by mail (standard, motorcycle or personalized)

Historic and motorcycle plates

• Complete the (Form SP-121).
• Enclose two clear color photographs (can be printed on plain paper) of your vehicle or motorcycle: front view and side view (right or left).
• Enclose a copy of your 樱花视频 vehicle or motorcycle title.
• Enclose a check or money order for $44 check or money order made payable to NJMVC.

• Personalized - Historic, Courtesy Historic and Motorcycle Historic are issued only by the MVC’s Special Plate unit located in Trenton. 听If you have any questions regarding these three types of plates, please call the unit at 609-292-6500 ext. 5061.

Street Rod plates

You may either contact the Street Rod Club you belong to, or call the MVC’s Special Plate Unit at 609-292-6500 ext. 5061 to request an application.
Include the following documents with your application:

• Completed Application for Historic Vehicle Registration (Form SP-121) signed by a Street Rod Official.
• Photocopy of the current vehicle registration certificate.
• Photocopy of your membership card.
• National Street Rod Association Vehicle Safety Inspection Form No. 100.
• Check or money order for $15 payable to the NJMVC.
• Send the package to:
