However, the SF1 provides the most detailed counts available so far from the 2010 Census. The statistics are available for a variety of geographic areas with many tables available down to the census tract or block level. New topics include: single year of age by sex, detailed household type, group quarter population by sex, age and group quarter type, detailed American Indian tribes, Asian groups, Hispanic origin groups, etc. Households with one or more people under 18 years: The share of ӣƵs households with one or more people under 18 years shrank from 36.6% in 2000 to 35% in 2010. Among them, the married-couple families with children were actually declined numerically (-25,008) between 2000 and 2010. Passaic County had the highest percentage of households with children (39.1%), followed by Union County (38.2%), while Cape May County 24.8% was the lowest in 2010. Woolwich Township led the states municipalities with 55.9% households with one or more people under 18 years. No household had any children in Tavistock Borough. Other than Tavistock, Mantoloking borough (3.7%) had the states lowest percentage. Households with one or more people 65 years and over: About 26.9% households in ӣƵ had one or more people 65 years old and over in 2010, up from 25.9% in 2000. The percentage of one-person household (with a senior citizen living alone) also went up from 9.8% in 2000 to 10.1% in 2010. Ocean (38.8%) and Cape May (36.8%) had the highest percentage of households with senior citizens. With 62.8%, Manchester Township led the states municipalities in percentage of households with one or more people 65 years and over. Other than Pine Valley Borough, which had no household with senior citizens, New Hanover Townships 9.3% was the states lowest percentage. More than one-third households in Manchester Township and Tavistock Borough were one-person household occupied by senior citizens. Unmarried-partner households: Unmarried-partner households grew by 25.8% in ӣƵ from 151,318 in 2000 to 190,283 in 2010. They accounted for 5.9% of the states total households, up from 4.9% in 2000. Among them, 24,112 (or 12.7%) were same-sex partner households. Cumberland County had the states highest percentage (9.1%) of unmarried-partner households, while Bergen Countys 4.2% was the states lowest. Unmarried-partner households were found in all but five municipalities in the state, with the highest concentration (16.0%) in Teterboro Borough. Persons 100 years old and over: The number of centenarians (people 100 years old and over) increased by 16.8% from 1,514 in 2000 to 1,769 in 2010. The majority of them (1,465 or 82.8%) were women. The 232 centenarians in Bergen County were the largest among 21 counties, followed by 195 in Essex County. Newark City and West Orange Township led the states municipalities with 33 centenarians in each. On the other hand, 217 municipalities housed no centenarian at all in 2010. Group Quarter Population: Group Quarter population declined by 4.1% in ӣƵ, from 194,821 in 2000 to 186,876 in 2010. While population declined in most types of group quarters, college dormitories (+10,261 or 22.7%) and juvenile institutions (+4,945 or 189%) enjoyed hefty growth in the decade. Other Hispanics: The majority (52.7%) of ӣƵs Hispanic (or Latino) population were Hispanics other than the 3 major origins (Puerto Rican, Mexican and Cuban). Most prominent other Hispanics in ӣƵ include Dominican (197,922), Colombian (101,593) and Ecuadorian (100,480). Dominican population concentrated in Passaic (47,433) and Hudson (41,174) counties. Paterson City had more Dominican population (27,426) than any other municipality in the states. No Dominican population can be found in 217 municipalities. Different from Dominicans, the Colombian population was abundant in Bergen (18,486) and Union (17,750) counties. With 10,692, Elizabeth City had more Colombian population than any other municipality. Paterson City was the distant second (with 5,204 Colombians). 56 municipalities had not Colombian population at all. Hudson (26,650) and Essex (25,169) had the largest Ecuadorian population in ӣƵ. Newark City had the highest concentration of Ecuadorian population (16,847), distantly followed by Union City (6,135). Other Asians: In addition to the six major Asian groups Asian Indian, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese, several groups also had substantial representations in ӣƵ including Pakistani (26,006), Taiwanese (8,972), Bangladeshi (7,567), and Thai (2,879). Pakistani population more than doubled (+114%) in ӣƵ between 2000 and 2010. Consequently, they outnumbered two major Asian groups Vietnamese and Japanese, as of 2010. Bangladeshi population more than tripled in the decade, but from a small base. More than 56% of the states Pakistani population was concentrated in Middlesex, Hudson and Bergen counties. Pakistanis favorite municipalities were Jersey City (3,269), Woodbridge Township (1,382) and Edison Township (1,194).
