This endorsement authorizes the holder to teach chemistry and environmental and general sciences in all public schools.
Subject Matter Preparation
Credit Requirements
A minimum of 30 semester-hour credits in a coherent sequence in the subject field of chemistry. At least 12 of the 30 semester-hour credits must be at the advanced level of study (junior, senior or graduate level).
Exception
Candidates holding a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) or standard certificate with a science endorsement seeking an additional CEAS or standard certificate in chemistry shall complete 15 semester-hour credits in chemistry and pass the state test of subject matter knowledge (GPA flexibilities shall not apply). At least six of the 15 semester-hour credits must be at the advanced level.

The final determination as to which courses will be counted towards the subject matter is based on content standards found in the Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ Student Learning Standards.
Courses in pedagogy or education are not acceptable.
