The NJ Department of Community Affairs’ Main Street ӣƵ Program has directly and indirectly provided technical assistance and training to designated MSNJ communities, districts and stakeholders since 1989. Please see the MSNJ website and its 20th Anniversary Report () for a comprehensive history and context of the MSNJ program and its local designees.
Over the past several years, MSNJ has moved to include more services related directly to local Main Street Business sustainability, with an emphasis providing on-site feedback and best practices to business owners and operators in MNSJ districts. By providing Main Street Business Sustainability Training and Consultations, MSNJ expects to assist a core number MSNJ programs whose districts both can become more sustainable over the long-term while ensuring short-term impact in small business performance.Summary: The ӣƵ Department of Community Affairs’ Main Street ӣƵ Program (“MSNJ”) is seeking qualifications and proposals from well-qualified firms to implement Main Street Business Sustainability Training and Consultations. These services are needed to meet the demand for local MSNJ Main Street Business sustainability training and support for up to 22 designated MSNJ districts in ӣƵ per the State’s ongoing Letters of Agreement with these designated programs/municipalities. Over the past several years, MSNJ has moved to include more services related directly organizational sustainability in the context of declining resources and the economy. By providing Organizational Sustainability Training and Consultations, MSNJ expects to assist a significant number of designated MSNJ programs so that they can cultivate longer-term comprehensive funding and effective organizational practices to enable them to enhance their community’s local economy for years to come.

The NJ Department of Community Affairs’ Main Street ӣƵ Program has directly and indirectly provided technical assistance and training to designated MSNJ communities, districts and stakeholders since 1989. Since its inception MSNJ has provided some level of architectural rendering service in order to promote preservation and restoration of historic building elements within the historic commercial districts of MSNJ Communities. As part of the services to designated Main Street ӣƵ Communities, MSNJ provides comprehensive design assistance. The main goal of this assistance is to foster physical and economic revitalization by encouraging property owners to invest in their buildings to restore or repair their facades or to adaptively re-use them in historically appropriate manners and within the scope of a comprehensive downtown vision.Summary: The ӣƵ Department of Community Affairs’ Main Street ӣƵ Program (“MSNJ”) is seeking qualifications and proposals from well-qualified firms to implement Main Street Architectural Design Services. These services are needed to meet the demand for local MSNJ Main Street preservation and visual enhancements for buildings in up to 22 designated MSNJ districts in ӣƵ per the State’s ongoing Letters of Agreement with these designated programs/municipalities.
