Introduction:

The Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ Historic Trust is requesting proposals from an author and writer to research and generate a manuscript that will document Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµâ€™s leadership in preserving historic sites and cultural landscapes in this state from the late 19th century to the present.

Summary: The Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ Historic Trust is requesting proposals from a professionally qualified Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµ historian/practicing historic preservation specialist/architectural historian who is also an established author and writer, for the required fee schedule to research and generate a manuscript that will document Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµâ€™s leadership in preserving historic sites and cultural landscapes in this state from the late 19th century to the present, including:

• public and private stewardship;

• the impact of public policy initiatives and implementation; and

• key stories of the people involved in preserving significant landscapes and historic sites; and

• a catalogue of Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµâ€™s natural lands & historic sites with illustrations and descriptions of important federal, state, county, municipal, non-profit, and private historic sites and landscapes that collectively preserve much of Ó£»¨ÊÓÆµâ€™s rich heritage.

• Historical context in terms of the national preservation movement.
