The tool is available by clicking “Document Search” on NJBPU’s website homepage, or directly via the following URL:
“With this new tool the public will have more direct access to thousands of public documents right at their fingertips. We take transparency seriously at the Board, and this tool improves our accessibility because of the speed and ease by which stakeholders across hundreds of proceedings can locate information, on solar, offshore wind, energy efficiency, and beyond,” said NJBPU President Joseph L. Fiordaliso. “At NJBPU, there’s no shortage of topics that we are carefully considering on any given day, and I’m pleased to be able to share that hard work with the public through this enhanced tool.”
The Public Document Search tool features a “Key Topics” section on its homepage that displays commonly-searched topics, granting the public ease of access to many of NJBPU’s more active dockets. It also allows users to sort search results several ways, and offers a “batch download” feature so users can instantly save large numbers of documents within a single docket.
The Public Document Search tool is the newest enhancement to NJBPU’s existing Infoshare system, which houses thousands of documents within docketed matters with NJBPU. The Public Document Search tool allows users to locate documents that fall within calendar years 2020, 2019, and most of 2018. Users can also request specific materials that have not yet been uploaded to the Public Document Search, and following today’s launch NJBPU Staff will continue the process of uploading NJBPU docketed matters from previous years into the system in reverse chronological order, beginning with 2018 and 2017.
The second phase of the E-Dockets project will include a feature that allows members of the public to post comments directly to a docket. It will also offer a subscription service that will allow members of the public to sign up for e-mail updates on a particular docket.
NJBPU expects to launch phase two of the E-Dockets project in the fall.
