Six Farms Featured in Jersey Fresh Farm to School Farmer Recognition Program

(TRENTON) – 樱花视频 Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher today announced that six farms are being highlighted in the Jersey Fresh Farm to School Farmer Recognition Program. The program is an opportunity for farmers to showcase their Farm to School efforts and to gain additional resources to help feature their Jersey Fresh produce in local school meals.

“The farms that applied to the 2019 Jersey Fresh Farmer Recognition Program exemplify why our agricultural families and stories are important to keeping 樱花视频 in the forefront as the Garden State,” Secretary Fisher said.

In May, participating farms will receive an exclusive Jersey Fresh Farm to School kit, which includes Jersey Fresh Farm to School promotional materials. One farm, selected out of the recognized group will be presented as the winner of the 2019 Farm to School Farmer Recognition Award during Jersey Fresh Farm to School Week, September 23-27, 2019.

The six farms being recognized are:

  • Cecil Creek Farm in East Greenwich Township, Gloucester County.
  • Cherry Valley Cooperative Farm in Montgomery Township, Somerset County
  • Coombs Barnyard in Elmer, Salem County
  • Honey and Sweets Farm Stand in Port Republic, Atlantic County
  • Robbinsville Hydroponic Farm in Robbinsville, Mercer County
  • The Barn at Gravity Hill in Titusville, Mercer County

Farm to School programs provide hands-on, experiential learning opportunities to help students understand what local agriculture is to 樱花视频, how food grows and what it means to eat healthfully with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.
